Work Item: Release
Description:
The Release work item is the primary element of the project planning scope. Working with linked Sprint items, it displays rolled up information on the release duration and backlog work loads currently planned and completed.
Calculated values:
The release work item includes several calculated fields. The values of theses fields are generated from both linked sprints and Product Backlog Items that have a planning scope that resides beneth the release.
For Example: A PBI with a planning scope of "Project/Release 1/Workstream/Sprint 1/Team A" will contribute to a release with a planning scope of "Project/Release 1/"

| (Planned Duration) Work Starts | The planned starting date for this release. | Date Time |
| (Planned Duration) Work Ends | The planned end date for this release. | Date Time |
| (Planned Duration) Go Live Date | The go live date for this release. This is useful if the end and go live dates differ. | Date Time |
| (Actual Duration) Work Starts | Calculated from the earliest start date of all the linked sprints. | (Calculated) Date Time |
| (Actual Duration) Work Ends | Calculated from the latest end date of all the linked sprints. | (Calculated) Date Time |
